For the ease of usability and general reliability i would choose Windows 7.
For some work related stuff, I do use Debian, just cause the tools are better on it.
Sometimes i switch between these two, generally like the linux, but man it fails me sometimes.

Agree 100%. Though I use Windows 8.1, coming from Windows 7 on my PC, just because Windows is unbeatable when it comes to gaming.
On my MacBook I use Mac OS X (suprise, suprise) and on my Notebook Linux (switched from Arch Linux to Ubuntu 14.10 recently).
I love all of them for different reasons but I think if I would have to decide I would pick Linux just because I like the whole Package Manager thingy and the high flexibility.

I like Windows 7. I'm using Windows 8 and I don't really like it.... Windows 7 has much more freedom to do what you want.

I think Windows just seems "plain and simple" because most people started computing with it and grew up using it.
Actually for example Package Managing is much easier using Linux than installing everything by hand like with Windows if you learned it once.
I think it depens on how much time you are willing to invest and with what OS you started using a computer.

it does not have more, if you dive a bit deeper in Windows 8(.1), in my opinion.
Windows 8 does seem a bit odd if you start using it but you get used to it by time.

Well I don't see any freedom Windows 7 provides which Windows 8.1 doesn't.
But anyway, everyone is allowed to use whatever OS he/she likes most.
