Used windows 8 little bit but I dont like it. Used just because i wanted to use visual studio. Now happy with dual boot - windows 7 and linux ubuntu.

I find that Windows XP/7 is more of a common-user operating system.
I find myself to the liking of a clean FreeBSD system. FreeBSD is very secure, and you can do literally anything with it. Windows, eh, not so much.

I think steam would have to have a general Linux support. If they did, then I'm sure you could compile a few things and get it working correctly. Most games have a specific set of platforms that they can run on (which I'm sure you're aware of). There is no doubt that you could write your own emulator though.

But FreeBSD is not Linux though, it's well.. FreeBSD. But since since both Linux and BSD are posix compliant I guess the main issue is updating libraries and drivers, I know that they have Nvidia drivers.
