I really like to use the intellij ultimate edition (cuz they give it for free if you know how to ask Biggrin) It has alot of different options and knows web stack too. I think is more consistent than eclipse and a bit easier to use when you get used to it (The only one minus is that you have to download SDK when you download the IDEA idk i think there is an option that it comes with JAVA wrapper but idk the ultimate version comes with tons of more things)

P.S. i started with eclipse and i felt the differences (huge ones)

Based on the TIOBE Index for June 2016 Java is now more well-known than a variety of widely-used programming languages, including C++, Python, C#, PHP and JavaScript. The statistics on usage posted on various websites illustrate the immense popularity and importance of Java in the present day world. Java is an all-purpose programming language. Certain developers prefer to use Java to build desktop GUI applications as well as other developers create numerous web-based applications using Java technologies. In addition, Java is also used extensively for the development of mobile applications and games for Android which is the mobile platform with the biggest user base. There are plenty of reasons that Java is going to be a major factor over an extended period of time.

In my case, I do not have a preference when it comes to using IDEs. In my own perspective since I live in a country where internet is sometimes slow as hell or hard to grasp and I get to meet different clients and companies, I do my best to study how to use the basic functions of any IDE that is available and read the manual so I could adapt to everyone's preference.

It is Intellij for me. I have used Eclipse in past, but made the switch once I came across Intelllij and saw the difference.
