Very interesting. I know there are plenty of drawbacks as well - I.e. it's difficult to innovate and make new designs which could be "superior" products, as R&D for all these companies is entirely separate. I wonder if tech companies will adopt business models similar to car manufacturers who also have to alter car design to match EU/UK laws & regulations.
