I use Microsoft Edge from time to time and In my experience, It's very stable and responsive.

It's certainly a vast Improvement from Internet Explorer.

While I'm too far removed from microsoft browers (firefox actually supports webstandards properly) what little I used of edge was pretty good.

I use it as my main browser, I absolutely love the collections feature. I'm not sure if Chrome has this as I haven't use another browser in a while, but when I minimize Edge the CPU usage goes down to about 1% which is super useful for playing YouTube in the background or whatever. It also has support for Chrome extensions which are incredibly useful, and a bit of integration with Microsoft accounts.

As of late, I've started using Avast Secure Browser and I'm quite Impressed.

I create eBooks on a daily basis, and It's the only browser that saves PDFs In the exact format as the original page.

Interesting, I haven't heard of this one. I've been using the Brave browser for a more privacy based browser but I'm going to try out this Avast browser.

As for Edge, it's a pretty great browser imo and very fast, I'd use it over Chrome. I think a lot of people instantly discredit it and don't give it a shot because it's a Microsoft browser and everyone thinks back to Internet Explorer.

Currently I mainly rock Firefox and Brave browser.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with Avast.

In terms of Edge, you're absolutely spot-on with this comment:

I've had friends who've discussed their thoughts to that effect.

Microsoft has come a long way from Internet Explorer. That was the browser for installing real browsers. Now they seem to have an "edge" in the modern browser market.

But I just don't feel like I trust Microsoft enough to leave Edge as my main browser. I'm already entrusting with them too much by using Windows way more than I should be. And I am already comfortable with the Ungoogled Chromium experience so I don't ever feel like switching unless there's some dire need to.

I use the TOR Browser Bundle as my primary web browser, with uBlock Origin installed -- I just disable the TOR network while using the browser.

^ This Is a must for general navigation.

It tends to be rather slow at the best of times, and quite frustrating waiting for sites/pages to load.
