I have never heard about "Internet" being referred to as a drug, but I believe use of (eg.) Marijuana for medical purposes can be a fantastic help to many.
Despite respecting people who take drugs; I will never admit to having had an addiction of any drug.

Drugs are bad and you should feel bad.

I don't consider weed a drug.
I've done quite a bit, mainly experimentation, but I also don't accept the whole idea "weed is a gateway drug", considering weed was one of the last "drugs" I used.
Started with cocaine, found it wasn't as fun as my friends at the time made it out to be, moved on to try meth, while more fun, felt shit with it, so I haven't done it since the few times I tried. Moved on to acid, which was exceptionally fun, but at the time I didn't have money to continue using it, and now that I do, I don't feel like doing it.
After acid, I started broadening the kinds I did into more and more the research chemical drugs, because for some reason my immature mind thought those would be better. After I was done messing with research drugs, rapidly moved on to synthetic drugs, dropped those, then didn't use any for quite a while (About three years). Used marijuana for the first time at 18, did it a lot, became a bum, then stopped because my grades were slipping. After that, went back to research drugs, for the most part 25C-NBOMe, because it was cheap and basically acid with a smoother come down, only issue I had with it was extreme paranoia and a lot of unwanted feelings, but I still felt in control, so nothing ever happened because of either of those.
Once I was expelled from high school I stopped doing drugs altogether, though I was still selling them as a part of a group, which apparently made me part of an American drug cartel?
For some reason everyone considered it a cartel and I was one of the "bosses" because I had suppliers and runners working for me for a greater portion of the time, same with everyone I worked for.
Took about a year of doing that for me to stop selling as well, during which time I occasionally smoked pot to deal with the stress that came with it.
Once that was a done business, I went out of my way to avoid anyone doing or selling anything that wasn't marijuana, because I didn't want to be tempted to get back into it.
Smoked weed infrequently since, mainly when my insomnia becomes a bigger issue than it should so I can attempt to get some sleep when I'm exhausted.
Beyond that, I don't really have any need to use drugs anymore, or desire, so I don't.
tl;dr:
Did quite a bit of drugs before, haven't done much since, weed isn't a gateway drug.

I've tried marijuana, and I can say I did not like it. I don't know, some things are just not for some people.
I don't look at it as a drug, however I don't look at it as good either.
To me, it's just a bad habit that burns a hole in your wallet.
