Is there anyway to Donate through PayPal for Elite? It's going to take forever to get that many posts and points :-(

I remember Oni saying a reason about why he didn't want people paying for upgrades, but I cannot remember why.

Well, the main reasons forums have upgrades that needs payment in real money is because they lack the money to fully build the site. If the owner has enough cash and more so, then there really isn't a need to have a payment for it and by having points that you only gain through posts, it will encourage people to post more and stay around for longer.

Well I think this way we can really see who gets dedication for the community instead of knowing who's richer xD
It would be better in some aspects that SP buying was enabled but in general it would be bad I think...

The owner must not have any troubles with site funds then, that's good to hear. I like his style of making the site active.
