Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? 06-23-2019, 10:31 AM

Just acquired an IPS monitor the other day and I couldn't help but notice how different the colors looked when I set it all up, to my astonishment. At first, I thought it had to do with my vision and age, but that wasn't the case. When I looked at the various viewing angles, this became even more obvious. It really led me to consider monitor calibration after acquiring my new IPS monitor, now I'm on the fence of deciding whether I should calibrate my monitor or not.
Has anyone manually calibrated their monitor's color and noticed an appreciable boost in visual quality? Ease of use? Ease of staring at for a long time without getting tired eyes? Any other unexpected benefit that came from it?

I've never really found it necessary. My monitors usually are fine. I know there is a color correct-ness application but I haven't tried it.

I'm running laptops, and never had the need to calibrate.
They're fine at their default state.

Color calibration is worth doing if you could afford it. I never got around to buying a calibrator but I know they typically improve the color of most commercially available monitors!

All I do with my monitors is set the saturation level to near-max so it looks very colorful. I got so much used to it that whenever I look at a different monitor I feel like I'm colorblind lol.

Yeah, I calibrate my monitor to my eyes as I believe that everyone in their own way is different and having a more generalized setting is worse than having them optimized for your eyes.
