[Discuss] Government keeping secrets

Videos like this just start making me think. Why can't our government just be honest with us and tell us what we deserve to know? I'm not saying I believe everything in this video but it does make me start thinking. You don't have to discuss specifically aliens, this was just an example of one of the major things the government seems to keep from us.

Think about it honestly if things like this were real, or some mysterious doomsday even was going to happen, or something like an asteroid was going to smash into the Earth.

Do you honestly want the public to know these things? so people can go crazy, loot, riot, and murder because the world is about to end. The government knows how to handle the information.

Honestly I don't have a problem with it because if information like another(otherworldly) species or secret "end of the world" dates got out, the public would go crazy. They might keep things from us, but its probably for the better.

Some things they may need to hide. Pretend they told everyone that there was a alien. It would freak EVERYONE out and possibly cause a riot. Then rumours would start to spread like a forest fire. Some things they may need to keep for them selves but it is a good thing sometimes to know the full truth.

The government does hide stuff, take Wikileaks and what they do for example.

We just did a topic on Resistance and I chose Wikileaks to do my assignment on and I pretty much spoke about how governments shouldn't be hiding the facts from the public.

They hide stuff for many reasons to keep the people happy (not start a panic), get more votes, to hide their corruption etc.

If someone figures out their secret, the FBI comes along and takes them.

Our gov doesnt keep alot of secrets mainly because our whole gov is as dumb as a brick wall.. Or they hide their smartnesss and secrets by acting stupid
