On an emulator.
I mean yeah it was cool, but you couldn't really do anything with your Pokemon. Personally I liked being able to switch them over to the new versions and make them stronger and shit.

pokeman wasn't my generation of games. i was already out of highschool when the games became popular. i was raised on MTG TCG.

but with the right controller there isn't any game i won't play on an emulator.

I couldn't exactly bring myself to play through it on an emulator. Playing on an emulator felt "fake" in a way.
I did play white/black version off of an R4 card though. I ended up buying it to support the developers though.

Exactly it felt fake.
I think for me it was because playing Pokemon on anything other than a handheld device was blasphemy.

Pokemon was a bad experience for me as a kid. i had a gameboy but the the back part that holds the battery was missing. we used some duct tape to hold it it. i remember playing Pokemon for a good hour then dropping my game boy and the batteries fell out and i did not save :p so i had to start over.
