Goodness, the second largest country In the world has been hit.

I can see this spreading. We're probably going to experience a COVID-21.

I'm glad to hear India is acting fast. All they can do is react to the information they receive. I hope you manage to stay safe.

I know people have been travelling for work, but I really don't understand why the UK is sending out flights of people. Especially if those people were not tested or isolating before and after the flight. Have we not learned our lesson yet?

I don't think the USA is worse. The number of people infected compared to how many die isn't high compared to other nations. For example, the CONFIRMED cases (not including the predictions of people who are infected and haven't been tested) are at just shy of 20 million. That makes a mortality rate of about 1.7% of all who are infected (realistically it is much lower than that as we are not including any cases that haven't been reported). Meanwhile, if you compare the mortality rate for Brazil's confirmed and reported, positive cases, their mortality rate is at over 2.5%. France's rate would be 2.48%, and the UK would be 3%.

Long story short: I'm saying that the USA isn't doing as badly as the media makes out, and it entirely depends on how you INTERPRET statistics. The statistics above suggest the UK is doing almost literally twice as bad as the US, in mortality rates. However, these statistics are affected by how many people are tested and when. We could argue that too many people are getting infected in the USA, but there isn't evidence to support that more people are dying in the USA, compared to other nations.

People say the USA is the worst right now, but the USA probably also has the most accurate stats. Think about countries that don't have proper facilities or reporting...

To be honest. I've yet to understand why people are calling the US "the worst". What are they basing that on? The USA is absolutely enormous. Of the western nations, the US isn't even the worst among them...?

The problem Is, no one knows for sure who's a carrier of the virus.

If It's asymptomatic (no symptoms), there could be thousands of people Infected without their knowledge.

Is it not peculiar that the international media organizations that remonstrated to the COVID-19 virus being called the Chinese virus or the Wuhan virus have now nicknamed the incipient strain the "UK mutant virus"? So, geographically labelling the pristine virus is racist but not its variant?
