One guy moved in, tried to order an escort to our house, then didn't pay rent for 6 months (which is the only reason he was supposed to live with us) and then we all lost our deposits.

The bad thing Is, when they don't pay rent, not only Is It difficult to get the money owing, but It's also hard to get rid of the person.

In your case, It's a shame losing all deposits but sometimes (to avoid conflict and/or antagonistic behavior), It's best to simply take It on the chin and move forward.

The landlord wanted to take him to court for the 2,100 GBP he owed but couldn't even track the guy down. The information he gave to the university was also false. REALLY DODGY GUY. xD
