Debates within threads? 06-12-2016, 02:50 PM

So i've recently had 2 debates with inton in two threads whilst in my opinion still talking about/ debating about what the thread is about.
For some reason people complain about this. Is it wrong having a debate within a thread if its about the thread topic?

That is because people these days come on forums for spam and free content. They lack an opinion for themselves and the ability to talk without arguing.

If it's about the thread topic I think it's fine.
If it's "Intrusive" it should just be sorted or dealt with in PM's.

As long as the debate doesn't turn into a fight and strays from the topic I think it's fine.

If it stays on-topic, it is fine.

How about when people debate they take it to private messages, or there is some sort of debate forum or a trash forum so that it doesn't spam off topic posts on threads.
