Data Files #1
Really not sure where this should go but i have 2 very large folders is my D: drive one is 283 gb and the other is 480 and neither have them have a name they are labeled "tmp5fc8qf5usG1Y-1Xmgrb1lKeYkJfX1Q2BCaCpwTk15KrEd_WnVQzNyjG9owWa8uxFmI0DWFTppFk8BlKTCx0RKUk_FRgLOUemRAsFBReEsIVTm4F0aO2c" and "tmpgolhy0k8ltMtu7nlx_UUEP3xW5LMxPNvBzFXhWsum1WRSbvShAa4l4pVRZxJt-j-4Ytdrlc-m4Pz3ieJSz8hRVg8bPbeNCFDHdvzCvfLlHPf9-ZhAS0adD-HBFo5qtOc8yGilvGEaqpshh1lxF.2f6XMf9BR_tv" that was just what it let me copy. there is no program available to view these files and they are taking up like 600 of 900 gb... how do i delete these and what are they? thanks for the help. I know this is not a tutorial but im hoping someone will show me how to deal with these thanks

How did you read the label?

to read the label i just blew up the file explorer to full page and extended the name parameter out as far as i could... and when i try to view them i get the typical look for app in windows error message where it tries to locate a program to use but cant so it sends it to you the store to look for a program. I dont seem to be able to delete them either which is weird i tried using bitdefender shred and bleach bit and it keeps crashing bleach bit

Can you screenshot the "Properties" of the files?

yes, hopefully this service works i could not figure out to attach the screenshot in the thread without uploading it elsewhere

the other file is gone so i was able to delete it. nothing affecting my pc after removal either, in fact might be running a little better. i was thinking these files could be malicious but i do my best to scan to my computer and proceed with caution for the most part.

I would do a clean install of your OS to be sure you're not infected. No virus known creates a file(s) that large.
For future reference, you can use https://postimages.org/ or Imgur then link the direct image like this .

How could I know if he's infected or not? If he wants to be sure, then he should try to clean install, then maybe dig around for any files that shouldn't be there. It's the safest bet, because you're not messing with files and stuff that you might need, and you don't risk deleting or corrupting files your system uses for important programs. None of what OP told me makes sense, that's why I asked for clarification about the files using the Permissions tab, which would tell me maybe something. But I do hope they find out where the files came from, because I've never seen a random file appear in any of my mal labs like that. I simply don't know.

You don't. Neither do I, and neither does he/she.

Given the OP's concern purely relates to the files, I'm simply (and kindly) referring to your comment below pertaining to the files - which Is contradictory of a clean Install.
