Cryo Prisons #1
So I am sure some of you know of the movie demolition man which is actually a very good movie. What are your thoughts on if Cryostasis prisons actually became real.

Alcor which specializes in Cryonics has been working to preserve humans in that there beliefs and studies will be able to bring them back to life when a cure for what causes there death becomes available. Now the only issue is the blood vessels, etc freezing and being ruined by ice crystals but they believe they can solve that in the near future.

If they were to actually succeed in bringing people back from it, I think it is possible cryo prisons could actually become a real thing.

You'd miss a lot of shit and it'd be hard to re-integrate into society, but apart from that: meh.

That is the cool part though, lets say you get 100 years in cryo prison and you wake up into a century and future you would have never seen if you didn't get cryo.

In a way it is actually a gift rather then a punishment but still it would be pretty cool I would probably volunteer but only if it is 100% certain that I can be brought back to life.

The point Is, In terms of a functional state, to what capacity would you be functioning?

Surely after so long of being Incapacitated, there'd be negative ramifications.

Exactly. Shit deteriorates. Cryo is just a dream for now.

Avoiding the idea of Cryo, and assuming eventually technology could allow a theoretical time bubble, where within it, time does not apply, and outside, time moves as it does naturally, I think that'd be more trippy than being frozen. Plus, more likely to have no effect on your body.

Reminds me of Bernard's Watch.

I'm not even sure I wanna know what that even is.

But it comes with its own set of issues too.
For example, if you were to lock a defined area in a bubble that time does not effect, would that mean that area would be irrelevant to the greater whole of space-time, and cease to actually exist as long as it is trapped at that single moment?

The programme was my fucking child hood.

On topic: this would breach people's human rights and is morally wrong. Why do we want to keep criminals alive for a later date? They aren't serving a punishment, their mental state will be the same. This is no different to execution, but worse.

itd be useful if you could keep someone conscious but preserve the body for that extended period of time, as for a punishment for the criminals who get like, 1000+ year sentences and then commit suicide like pussy bitches without paying for their crimes.
