For example, if you were to lock a defined area in a bubble that time does not effect, would that mean that area would be irrelevant to the greater whole of space-time, and cease to actually exist as long as it is trapped at that single moment?

I think what's more reasonable than stopping time is to slow it down. This is entirely possible: you simply travel really fast. What if the atoms in our body could resonate at 99.99% the speed of light?

On topic: this would breach people's human rights and is morally wrong. Why do we want to keep criminals alive for a later date? They aren't serving a punishment, their mental state will be the same. This is no different to execution, but worse.

^^ It wouldn't really even be a punishment imo. It'd be like falling asleep: you don't remember it so it passes as if it took a second. When you wake up, you get to see the future and it's like you never even served time.

What is really awful is that everyone you knew would continue aging. So, all of your family and friends will have moved on with life.

Never really thought of that.. That'd suck.

On the other hand, you could start life afresh without burdens.
