Will the tale of Princess Slütsof In Stagram be forced to come to an abrupt end? Instagram surely hopes so.

Redditor EditorMatt was recently served a cease and desist order from the super popular mobile photo sharing service for the website domain name “slutsofinstagram.com” (don't worry, it's suitable for work). He shared a copy of the letter on another photo sharing site, Imgur.

You see, it’s not what it sounds like. The website is home to an “online fantasy series about a Princess duck named Slütsof and her adventurous journey across the mystical lands of Stâgram." There’s apparently also a village of Whoresof... in Stagram, according to a hand-drawn map on the site.

The creator of the website claims the story is a “work in progress.”

Instagram, not surprisingly, isn’t a fan. In the cease and desist letter, its legal department writes: “Instagram is concerned about your use of the Instagram trademark in your domain name. Accordingly, we must insist that you immediately cease using slutsofinstagram.com... and disable any site available at that address.”

EditorMatt apparently wrote back with a tongue-in-cheek response.

“I’m sorry if it sounds close to your company’s name, but I don’t think you own the alphabet, that would be funny imagine? Have a good day.”

I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Princess Slütsof will finish the journey.

I personally found this pretty hilarious after taking a look at the site itself. It's pretty impressive to think even if he made it as a joke toward Instagram, how far he's gone.

I don't think they can claim trademark against the domain itself. it tends to be a bit of a gray area in a case like this
