Sex is supposed to be something that's kept private for the most part. Most people don't walk around naked, so nudity is generally only seen when there's sex involved, or if there's artistic nudity. Murder, however, is something that isn't something that's generally kept private. It's not just an American issue, it's an issue everywhere. I find it interesting how other nations are willing to disarm their citizens over a few dozen murders. Is death bad? Definitely. However, we've got presidents accidentally killing hundreds with drones and troops killing civilians. These issues generally make world news and you hear about them everywhere. You don't hear about sex on the news, unless it's some celebrity scandal. What people argue against guns is generally hypocritical, because they don't mind disarming their citizens as long as troops are armed.

That was very well said.
And true.

Don't take my damn AR-15's :/

I think it's funny how they are allowing people guns for now, but you must register all of your guns now. (proposed)

This is the exact step that Adolf Hitler took but with Jewish citizens. Scary? It scares the hell out of me.

This is true. One of the first steps totalitarian governments take is to disarm the general public.

Murder is always bad.

Sex is not always bad.

Yet murder is accepted as a public thing, but sex is not?

Annnnnd onto the gun debate, times have changed. There's not any privately owned warships, and close to no privately owned warplanes. Even if you had an M4, it won't be shooting down a stealth bomber dropping JDAMs. If a people wanted to revolt, they would need the military's backing, their small arms will not be of any use.

TI don't think that's what people are trying to say. Murder happens publicly, its not that we like it or accept it as an every day thing. Now if sex where to be accepted as a public thing, then we could start rebuilding this country. As for my opinion on the gun issue, people have the right to arm themselves. Although there is no need for automatic or assault weapons. But I should be allowed to carry around an M9 or a Desert Eagle for protection.

Sex never happens in public, murder does. Are you suggesting murder should happen in private and we all have sex in the street? I guess that might be one way to look at things, but a lot of people would agree sex is a very private thing that should remain in the bedroom. As for guns, I guarantee you that my city's gun-owners alone would be able to take over a small province. Maybe we wouldn't be able to stand against a corrupt government in America, but we'd at least have a fighting chance. You might be willing to give up your fighting chance, but a lot of Americans aren't.

America was founded upon secession and guns. The founding fathers wanted to be sure we had these guns, so that we would be able to secede if necessary. The constitution defends this right and now people are trying to bend the meaning. Back then, a citizen's weaponry was on-par with military's, and that was why citizens were able to stand a chance against the military of Britain. Now, our weapons may not be on-par with the military's today, but Americans would still like a chance. The founding fathers wanted us to have weaponry on-par with the governments, but because of technological advancement that's not possible.

You wouldn't have a fighting chance. You might be able to take over a whole province, but a few warships and a B2 would ruin the entire province.

Don't mean to be a dick, but in America we say state not province. As for the gun debate, we wouldn't stand a fighting chance. But us having guns stops the government from thinking they can push around the American people so much. While they currently do a lot of that, deep down, they are scared. Us having guns allows us to be closer to being equal in power with the government. Although I still don't believe citizens should have assault weapons. We have no need for them. I mean, I owned the Covenant in Halo with just a pistol. I also killed a few marines. The government can't be much stronger.

Still, if I'm not mistaken, you're saying Americans should give up guns simply because the government has bigger guns. Regardless, I don't believe you are thinking of guerrilla warfare.
