well i havent done this in about 2 months but

1 for iphone open the snap
2 then put it in airplane mode by sliding up (after opening snap other wise if you do it before the snap might not load and disappear as if you seen it but it was stuck on loading)
3 take screen shot or record while in airplane mode
4 close app from the background (while still in aireplane mode)
5 power off wait a while then put it back on

Download Snapchat++ been using it for years. Works great. Doesn’t notify the sender of screenshot plus has a shit load of other feature.

theres an app on android called "private screenshot"

it puts ur phone in projection mode (like projecting something to another device) but it projects straight to ur phone and u screenshot the projection

Just get another phone and take a picture of the screen it's 100% fool proof and never a risk of it alerting the person you have taken it.
