Come on - you act like you're rich... the tickets are like 200$! I attended a Software Developers conference a few weeks ago with ticket prices set @ 999$

I don't act like I am rich. I am not. However, I thought the tickets cost way more. Probably would have attended Black Hat, had I known.

Ticket prices are upwards of $1500, no thanks!

Blackhat is expensive - yes - but you were saying you found Defcon expensive and those tickets come in at around 200$ - Thats like a give away compared to most major/professional conferences.

You are leaving out the fact I paid for two tickets and two round trip flights.

Defcon $$$ for tickets isn't the issue for me, it's the transport/lodging that kills it for me. Frankly, Defcon is good about putting a good amount of the talks on their youtube site, so I usually cruise through those and watch the ones of interest.

I'm banned from every MGM owned hotel on the Vegas strip and Defcon itself, because I just so happened to share a room with a guy who carded tons of food to the hotel and got himself raided while staying there. No Defcon for me, only the YouTube videos.
