Black Ops 2 Beginner Tips #1
These are some tips that I have learned over the years of COD gaming. Almost every one I learned in COD4. But still, these tips have helped me over the years and are still very useful till this day. Please enjoy. Smile

1. Never run into the open areas of a map. This puts you at a direct line of fire for the enemy to put a couple into ya. :l Always try to wiggle around obstacles and stay clear of the open.

2. Always try to stay with a full clip and don't ever reload while standing in enemy sight or in the middle of the map. Always crouch (or prone) behind debris, cars, barrels, etc. Just have some sort of protection when reloading. You don't ever want to get caught in a surprise fire fight and have to reload 6 bullets later.

3. Never chase. Never. You will be sprinting and be caught off guard, making it easier for the enemy to just turn around or lead you into his teammates. Not to mention, you may end up running into a direct line of sight for the enemies. There are only a few circumstances where chasing has worked or was beneficial and those are slim. For the most part, you just never chase.

4. Check every corner, take your time when entering buildings or walking across the map. It's easy to sprint straight on into an enemy's camping spot and get killed. Don't ever be lazy and not check where you are going, you never know where the enemies may be camping at.

5. Sprinting is to get from one side of the map to another side of the map. I know it sounds dumb but sprinting can get you killed very easily. You never want to sprint into an enemy's spawn, camp or anything like that. By the time you have to stop, aim down your sights will get you killed. Just walk. If you ever watch any commentators', they barely sprint. This is one of the many mistakes new gamers make and it's easily done.

6. Easier said than done; don't shoot at enemies while you're hurt. You're asking to be... fatality'd. o_o You have to put twice (or even third) more bullets into him than he does to you. Just call it a loss... or soon to be payback. Biggrin

7. And finally, in BO 2, you are rewarded for helping and doing things for the team. If you see an enemy, shoot him. Even if he just happens to be running somewhere down your sight and you know you won't be able to get him, you will be rewarded with XP. I don't advise this in certain circumstances like objective gameplays but in TDM, it's pretty useful. It's also better if you have a silencer so you don't giveaway your position but as I said this is better in non-objective game modes.

8. Drop shotting started in COD4 and used to be the sign of a good player. Nowadays, it's rare to see drop shotting but every once in a while you will see it or even be a victim of it. Drop shotting is basically going prone while shooting. It's probably one of the most important technique to improve your gameplay. The best situation to drop shot is close quarters where the enemy is directly in front of you. Since it's easier said than done, here's a small tutorial video -

9. Don't hesitate while aiming down your sights. Chances are you will be shot within the first 5 seconds. Don't ever just stand in an open window or behind a car just aiming down signs. Try to only aim in when you see an enemy or if you need to scope out something. It's very easy to forget, especially when your mind is cloudy.

Thank you for reading. Smile I hope these tips will help you with your gameplay. Smile If you have any suggestions to add please let me know. Smile

You should probably change the title since this applies to most if not all COD games. Also I drop shot once in a while and it brings back memories..I loved playing on Crash (COD4). I don't think this thread needs anymore tips since this is mainly for beginners.

I made this thread for beginners. They are most likely going to be starting on Black Ops 2 so that's why BO2 is in the thread title. Smile

I just added the last part in case any veteran players would like to add a few tips. Smile

Thanks man. Smile
