This makes me uncomfortable although I have never dealt with Bitcoin before. Why would anyone keep a large amount in there in the first place?

Meh. I mean sure, 12Mil is a lot, but when you consider some of the biggest Bitcoin robberies over the past few years (Anyone remember the Sheep Market or whatever it was called?) I don't think it's that likely it will be the biggest scam this year, we still have a lot of the year to go yet.

I couldn't bring myself to remove the hood classic above, enjoy it as a time capsule.

Websites like this one, which only made 12mil just swindle newbies who have found them on HiddenWiki. Those Sheep Market people were the real experts and the ones that make hundreds of millions of dollars can scam even the most experienced people.

What I found most disappointing is that this situation could put a lot of decent people's lives at risk.
In the article, one Evolution member said:
"I'M A VENDOR WITH EVERYTHING INVESTED IN THIS SITE, IN THIS 50+ BTC IN THE F--ING SITE..." "I OWE MONEY AND CAN'T PAY IF THIS IS TRUE... MY LIFES IN DANGER... PLEASE DON'T BE TRUE PLEASE"
Despite the awful grammar, you have to feel bad for the guy. I can see how a bunch of harmless people would end up owing a bunch of money to the wrong sort of people.

I totally agree with Oni on this one. (Don't tell him that I agree with him O.O) jk.
This is rather sad.. Some people who may have got tied up in the wrong thing here may be in deep trouble after this. As I very highly doubt this is going to be the last time we're going to see something like this happen, I won't even suggest that the internet should learn from this.
