Barack Obama to host 60th birthday party with over 700 guests

The birthday bash will reportedly have roughly 700 people present despite fresh concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

Axios reports that the party will be located at the Obamas’ $12-million-dollar home, with 475 confirmed guests (including the likes of Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney) in attendance. Another 200-plus people who make up the staff will be on the property.

Pearl Jam is also expected to give a performance, bringing one local hairdresser along with them for styling purposes.

The Axios article continues to report that, while Martha’s Vineyard isn’t listed as an area with a “substantially high” risk of spreading the disease, a recent spike in cases in neighboring Provincetown, Mass. “showed the continued risk of spread even between vaccinated people.”

Are we straight up living in fantasy land? Rules for thee but not me? Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in the current U.S. political system??

Apparently the “Delta Variant” is deadly and is not covered by the current vaccine. Why is this okay?

If I was his next door neighbor, I'd also host a party with 700+ friends. It'd be Interesting to see how authorities react to It.

That's just absolutely absurd man, like, here they are on the brink of re-instating old COVID procedures and we have former presidents acting like it just isn't a thing.

This is highly irresponsible of former president who should have been a role model in these times. Whatever precautions you take, this event is going to cause headache for the present government. If he wants to prove that bad times are over, this is a wrong time to do it. With third wave spreading fast, I hope he will reconsider his decision of holding a party and putting lives at risk.

The event on Friday, which will be held outside, will follow all U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public health protocols, a has source said. There will be testing for guests and a safety coordinator on site.

There wasn't. Biggest change was CDC mask guidelines. People being dumb is why we're still in this situation over a year and a half later.
