I know that. But you have to admin, the GUI is better The included tool have been updated and sorted more effectively.

And re the fact that Ubuntu is debain based: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/10/pr...data-leaks

I don't trust a 'free' OS that does stuff like that to its users.
Pay respects to the malformed SYN packet.

Plus Debian kind of has RMS's support, even though it's not his dream distro.

Kali, purely because it's far better supported.

I'm sure you've heard me say this, but I'll say it again. Downloading a hacking distro is stupid, because you will probably never use over half of the tools. Install what you need on your favourite distro, be that Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Mint, or whatever else. You'll learn how to properly use a small set of tools, which is better than knowing a little bit about a lot of tools.

If you need it as a liveCD, you can always convert your tooled-up operating system into an ISO, probably easiest done by editing the SFS in the default ISO.

Id rather have some thing and not need it then need it and not have it. And backtrack is not a hacking distribution.

I prefer backtrack.

I would never use Kali or Backtrack as my main OS, but, I'd use Kali since it's more updated and more efficient.
