Auto-save function 03-16-2017, 03:37 PM
#1
Hello everyone,
So I have had a few times that on accident I deleted the thread text when I was busy typing it. It's really a waste of time and copying after every 10 lines isn't that nice either.
Would it be hard to implement an auto-save feature when creating larger threads? Maybe just a checkbox we can tick if you want to enable auto-save or not. It shouldn't be too hard to implement right?
What do you guys think of this and is this even possible @"oni"?
~~ Might be back? ~~

Nice Idea buddy..
You can make a table in database for this,, While writing auto save a text to the database then after posting , delete the text...

This is definitely possible using some simple AJAX and the existing MyBB drafting system. I think the only reason it doesn't come standard is due to the potential bandwidth overhead, but even that can be minimized.
All around great suggestion. In the meantime, Ctrl+Z works in a pinch, but you might lose some content.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

I definitely have written a few posts on android and accidentally clicked the back button, losing all my work. Would definitely be nice to have an auto draft feature.

I often copy my stuff to my clipboard after a few lines.

You do realize that ctrl z is a thing.
If you are going for a massive thread change. Just ctrl a, ctrl c it before doing anything else.
Never had this happen to me
