Thinking of all the people, animals, and wildlife in Cyprus at this current time. Let us hope the fires are brought under control very soon.

I know some of this is down to time of year/climate change. But I feel like I'm constantly hearing about wildfires at the moment. I suspect we'll only hear about it more as time goes on.

Good luck to anyone working on solutions for putting out these fires.

Climate change will gut the world. Deniers will still be arguing while groveling in the dust for food.

I'm sure as more people directly experience its effects, attitudes will change. However, climate change isn't an overnight event. I'm sure this will continue for generations to come. By the time humans are scrapping over food on a global scale, we will be long dead.

Spoiler:
Ever seen the TV show called "The 100"? This makes me think of that somehow.

Quote:Their bodies were found about 600m from their burnt-out vehicle near the village of Odos. A local policeman told AFP news agency that it appears they fled the vehicle and became trapped among the flames.

Horrific. 600m is a large distance. May they rest in peace.

oh this very sad. In my zone (mideast EU) the climate is very good. The temp is around 25Celsius so its really good for a chill a summer. Meanwhile few hundreds km from us there are zone with 40 Celsius.

I certainly agree.

Fires of this magnitude have been happening for many decades, yet to this day, there Isn't an effective solution to tackle and distinguish them before the damage Is done.

Another classic case of climate change brought about by global warming. These incidents will unfortunately increase unless government seriously thinks about the survival of human race rather than business and profits.
