Probably the gimmickiest thing Apple has made so far. At 16 inches wide, it's bigger than many laptops.

There's speculation that the giant iPad could measure up to 16 inches across to give it a screen as big as one of Apple's MacBook laptops.

That would make the gadget as wide as the wheel of a car – far larger than the 11-inch and 12.9-inch displays offered by the current iPad Pro.

Trusted Apple leaker and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gruman revealed the nascent plans in a newsletter published on Sunday.

"I'm told that Apple has engineers and designers exploring larger iPads that could hit stores a couple of years down the road at the earliest," he wrote.

I can not see this being taken seriously. If they offered a separate keyboard that could attach like other popular laptops/tablets , it could possibly work.

It defeats Its purpose of portability, particularly when wanting to travel with a device that's light and compact.

Given Its size, I'd rather purchase a laptop.

hmm. i like very much. There are laptops that u can split into keyboard and display and this is the same. Maybe this will be the future. Apple always knew what will be the next big thing.

I forget whose advert it is (probably google) but their advert for a shitty chromebook-style laptop says in the ad something to the effect of "people wish laptops were more like phones". Um. No I really fucking don't. Quite the literal opposite my friend.

but I cant see this as something that will break through and become a 'thing' unfortunately

yeah, I mean, this may become something that lots of people want, maybe someone will love having a big ipad,
but in that case, I think the audience will be less wide, and its not going to reach a wider audience.

I think you're right. Although, I can imagine those fancy beds with TVs that rise up out of the end panel.. being replaced with a giant iPad. xD
