I also had this problem, and it's very stupid. I was completely exhausted at night, but my brain just couldn't shut down. I didn't know what to do, so I went to the doctor. It took me a month to set up my sleep routine and rest like a normal person.

What actually helps me is that I try to tire myself out or maybe workout a little. This makes me so tired and immediately fall asleep when I come back home. Sometimes I just go on a walk with my kid in his stroller, then we come back and sleep. Sometimes when I get so tired, I don’t even get the opportunity to take my bath before I sleep. It comes fast. Try it. Just get tired, that’s it.

if all else fails you can always turn to getting some support from a doctor in the form of some medicine, shit isnt usually long term but worth it to get your head straight

I feel you bud the struggle is definitely real. I sometimes watch history documentaries on youtube to help drift off. Try that except don't watch the video put your phone down and listen to the the audio only.

I usually get up eat some food and wash my feet and try to do something before trying to go back to bed. This works like 20% of the time, so when that doesn’t work I just accept my fate. Insomnia fucking sucks
