Android Development #1
Over the past near two years I've been doing a lot of Android (and some small iOS) development. I'm still not the greatest developer to have lived but I'm getting a lot better.

My goal for this thread is to see how much interest amongst the HC member there is for tutorials on the android OS.

If there is sufficient interest, I will be happy to start writing some tutorials (firstly aimed at beginners).

Please comment below if this would interest you.

Many thanks, Niko.

I would just start writing the tutorials anyway, if people some people aren't interested now, you can get their attention or just publish the tutorial on other places (that's what I do, I don't limit it to one place).

I'm not interested in any tutorials myself, though that's because I'm not really target audience of the tutorials as I do advanced development myself in various areas, including Android.

Seems the better idea, i have a few tutorials i had wrote for a friend but they were made for Froyo (maybe GB too), so it is quite possible that they will need updating for ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich - Android 4.0) seeing as since Froyo there has been 3 new OS's released.

Hopefully either tonight or tomorrow i will get the first one posted.

H4r1s, we need to talk soon. Im currently building an android app for HC (mainly as im too lazy to use the browser!), so once that is completed, you could give me a hand porting it over to iOS for the use of all HC members.

I don't think it needs much updating, unless you're going to use some of the new features introduced to ICS's API. Android is backwards compatible and unless you really need some new feature in some higher version of the API level, it's best to stick with the lowest possible one, so your app runs on as many devices as possible.

Hi,
I hope you're still an active member seeing that this thread was made some months ago...
But I would be very interested in android app development. If it isn't too much trouble, could you teach me a few basics?
