Sundar Pichai, head of both the Android and Chrome division at Google has announced that the next version of Android, 4.4, will be called KitKat and not Key Lime Pie. Pichai also says that there are over 1 Billion Android activations.

The name KitKat shows that Google is keeping the tradition of naming each version of Android after a dessert. First it was Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and now KitKat.

Personal Notes: I beleive that this is some sort of advertising trick, but I love KitKats so in the end this works.

Anyways, back to topic. I actually didn't realize they named them after desserts (it's pretty obvious now though), but yeah, it looks like some weird advertisement trick to make people buy more Kit Kat's. I don't see the point of putting it in the name of an Android version though.

I heard it was originally supposed to be called "Key Lime Pie". Good thing they switched, lol.
But that's pretty cool, and Kit Kats are nice. Anxious to see what 4.4 will have in store.

I dont think that it is necessarily that some people are way too serious, instead it seems more likely that the internet has a unique tendency of finding anything possible to moan about and then engage in a full out fanboy warfare, until the next options like accessoire ipad 5 & Ipad 5 ...
