Amazon has banned over 600 Chinese vendors, as a result of investigations into fake reviews.

I’m surprised this went on as long as it did. Amazon is usually quick & swift for sellers who cheat the system.

600 brands - it was spread across 3,000 accounts. It still seems like just the tip of the iceberg, though.

Right, that's what I'm confused by. Amazon does not put up lightly with Merchant/Seller abuse of the system, but I'm guessing either a full-blown investigation was conducted or the company simply didn't want to miss out on the revenue.

You're probably right about an Investigation.

Amazon Is worth around 1.7 trillion (and rising by the second), so I don't see why they'd be concerned with missing out on a bit of extra revenue.

I saw some comments saying it's very difficult to report sellers when you see they're doing something dodgy. I imagine Amazon doesn't have the infrastructure or human resources set up to keep up with reports like that. I could easily report something every single time I use Amazon. It's absolutely riddled with dodgy companies selling electronics that are liable to catch fire or blow. Of course, all of these companies have 3000+ 4-5* reviews.
