How long does it have to be before you consider a thread to be bumped from the grave? One month, two, or even longer?
In addition, I don't think there's really any need to delete threads, but just lock them, which would fall under the authority of the Moderators. Sadly, I haven't seen many of them around, so maybe we should hope for more staff openings for them?

@antlers If that's the case, the person in question should just start a new thread after seeing that the information is/might be outdated. If we deleted every single thread before a certain date, the forum would look extremely barren - not to mention what might happen to archives, the thread/post counts, quoting, and so on.
I do agree with you that topics should lock after a certain period of time, whether that's by a mod or automatically. Maybe the OP of the thread could have an option to allow their thread to be bumped or not locked if they choose to do so?

Report old threads that get bumped. We'll delete the new posts and close the threads. No need to delete content that could help or inform someone.
