Alias Gone Viral? (Xbox filtered my alias, domain worth thousands) #1
Some of you may know me, others not so much. I'm one of the oldest remaining members here at SL and I always come and go every now and then. However I've recently purchased a new laptop and a game server to work on so I have something to do in England's Lockdown 2.0. Last time I just sat here playing xbox for 3 months and it bored the absolute shit out of me towards the end.

Anyway, some things I noticed recently that quite shocked me:
My old domain "breshie.com" (the one in my signature) expired a few years ago and I was going to revive it to give myself something else to do in-between working on the server. Turns out they now want over $2000 for the domain as it's a "premium" domain name. I mean I know I was getting a bit of traffic with my tools but jesus christ where does that valuation come from?

Also, Xbox have filtered/banned my alias?!?
I tried to make a new Xbox account called "BreShiE" and it kept saying this name isn't allowed, but it will let me make accounts with different capitalization variants just not my specific alias variation "BreShiE". I couldn't make the account "BreShiE v5" but I was allowed to make "breshie v5" like wtf? Xbox hates me. Can't lie this has made me feel rather special XD

Anyone got any sort of explinations or possibly similar experiences? Share em

I could understand if it was something offensive but it was genuinely a word I just made up back in the day and stuck with, then later on found it's actually a womans name haha. Still doesn't explain why they would filter my exact capitalization but not the whole world Notamused CONSPIRICU

Premium domains are a pain and I've had some of mine snatched after not renewing (i.e. Oni.moe). Would probably cost >$10,000 to buy Sinister.com or Sinister.net. Then again, we might be worth that now.

I noticed that on GoDaddy a few days ago, and It's close to 3k at the time of this post.

They valuate It based on an average of previous sales with the same/similar keywords. One of my SEing domains Is up for 2.5k- mind you, all without my knowledge. I did not authorize the potential sale, so I have no Idea why It's listed.

i don't really have an idea of how finances with domains works, but could you make any money out of it, like you could have the domain brought via yourself (without godaddy or anything like that)

There certainly Is money to be made.

I've sold a few premium domains that I purchased at the regular cost, namely those that have expired due to the owner not renewing the domain.
