The question never mentioned price, so I never factored it in.
If not told that price is important between them for which one to go for, then I'm not going to give a shit about price and just reccomend the best.

From Personal Experience, ive seen that Intel lasts a lot longer than AMD. My computer is an Intel i7 Extreme Edition FROM 2008 when it originally came out (7 Years!!!). And it still is the fastest computer I work with (Even with my jobs). One of my friends got an AMD in 2013, and by now he hates it.

Meh, it seems cheaper. But intel stays fast for a long time (7 years with my current processor, still works flawlessly), so you get more bang for your buck.

This absolutely true and should definitely be a factor for when you buy a processor. I am currently running the i7-4770k and I don't imagine I'll be upgrading this computer until I'm at least going into University in 4 years, and even then I'm sure this will keep up with modern computers of that time.

Good thinking bro, It is a great tactic that is exactly what I did too!!! I was in 8th grade and I said, "Dad, you can either spend 500-700 dollars each year getting me a crappy HP Pavilion with an AMD processor or you can spend a little bit more and will never have to worry about it again". Its been 7 years since then and While I do occasionally upgrade some of the hardware (not much though), the processor works flawlessly to this day.

I've used both Intel and AMD processors and from my experiences, Intel always would come out ahead of the AMD.

I've been with Intel as long as I can remember. Never wanted anything else. I have been vastly gaming and using illustrator with it and it's always performed wonderful.

As for photo and video editing; I'd still stick with intel.

If price isnt an issue at all, buy the intel.

If price comes into play, but the AMD 8350 or 8320, why? Because it's the same as the 9590 but binned slightly worse.

I have my 8320 clocked at 5 GHZ stable right now and for the price you can NOT beat it. It doesn't bottleneck the SLI 970s either..

In my opinion, the intel i7 processor is much better in terms of handling both gaming & Video editing applications. However, if you were to choose an AMD-based processor it will be for a specific purpose like there are AMD processors for Video editing As well as processors for gaming only. In terms of hardware, intel processors always have the advantage since there are many motherboards that house them , and if something happens it would be very easy to fix. Also remember that Intel proccesors are easier to mount since they use (LGA) which is known as Land grid array; So, you wouldn't have to struggle with bent pins . Unlike Intel Proccesors, AMD processors are harder to troubleshoot since they have two things that make them bad. First, note that each AMD processor is different than the other one so you'll have to change the full motherboard to house a new processor (Trust me, you dont want that happen $$$ will be flying away). Last but not least, Is that it uses (PGA) Pin Grid Array; which means that if one small ping bends it will lead to more problems in the future as well as decrease in system performance, and etc.


Stick to intel at most of the times!
