AMD or Intel? #1
Does anyone want to help me out here?

I'm stuck at a crossroads between AMD and Intel. Both are great products and have different uses. This decision will make me change what mobo I will be buying.

Intel i7 4790k vs AMD FX-9590. Which one should I pick for intense gaming, casual compiling and video+photo editing? I usually just stick to Intel but some friends have been saying that AMD is also a strong choice.

Thanks in advance.

Intel has less cores that have better performance, AMD has more cores that are weaker. Intel master race.

I like AMD better, just preference and currently what I am running in my rig.

Choose the Intel CPU. Intel is for people that want quality for their money and AMD is for broke "budget builds".

I prefer Intel, that being said I don't support some of the things Intel has been doing lately. But at the moment Intel is the better choice, imo.

Intel will almost always be a better choice for media-creation as it has the best per core performance, but AMD is a strong choice when you're just looking for the power to run any video game and the odd time maybe do some video editing, etc...

I've always been Intel master race, but that's just me, if you don't have enough money to afford an Intel processor as they are always more expensive AMD would still be a very good choice.

Another think you can and should think about is that AMD is sort of known to run a but hotter than Intel. The stock cooler is fine but if you plan on excessive use or even overclocking, you might want to also think about an aftermarket cooler. I'm currently using the stock cooler on my CPU but I haven't overclocked it yet.

The 4790K shits all over the 9590 in just about every way imaginable, so, yeah.

I couldn't bring myself to remove the hood classic above, enjoy it as a time capsule.

From Personal Experience, ive seen that Intel lasts a lot longer than AMD. My computer is an Intel i7 Extreme Edition FROM 2008 when it originally came out (7 Years!!!). And it still is the fastest computer I work with (Even with my jobs). One of my friends got an AMD in 2013, and by now he hates it.

Meh, it seems cheaper. But intel stays fast for a long time (7 years with my current processor, still works flawlessly), so you get more bang for your buck.
