Yeah... we mass-mailed from multiple sites that were previously owned by a guy named Philly. INST1NCT and I managed to get full access on a VPS he owned.

A combination. The SQLi vulnerability for MyBB 1.6.8 (and lower), and the fact they left their merge system there.
