So when I bought my PC it came with 8gb of ram. Not so long ago I got 4gb of ram basically for free. Since I am not that great with Computer Hardware
Should I know and be concerned about something before installing that 4gb with 8gb? Some dude told me that it might not work etc. So came here to ask.

If there's 3 ram sticks total make sure it has more than just 2 ram slots

Give us your pc specs and ram companies. Crucial should match with Crucial. Corsair doesn't work with Crucial or other brands. They need to be from the same company. It's needed for dual, triple and quad channel ram. Only if your mobo supports it.

Not only does It depend If the Mobo supports the ram upgrade, but (If on the Windows platform), It also depends whether the Windows "edition" supports It- as different editions have different memory limits.

Using Windows 7 as an example, the "Home Basic" edition only supports up to 8GB of Ram, even on the 64 bit architecture. Take this under advisement If you're looking at Installing the extra Ram.

Don't know what band the 8gb is. Have to take PC apart to check.

I have to disagree with some of this. I have mixed RAM brands for YEARS with quite minimal issue. I've had a very rare event where some cheap off-brand ram didn't play well with something like Kingston or Crucial or Mushkin.

So the take away here, is that it varies from mobo mfg to mobo mfg. You may read the manual for your motherboard to see what it says regarding dual channel.

All that being said, as long as the memory is compatible with your machine, adding it SHOULD be ok. Practice safe computer service (ESD prevention) and you will probably be fine.

I think it should support more than 8gb.

You'll have no Issues with Windows 8, no matter what edition you're running.

In fact, Windows 8 Pro (on the 64 Bit architecture) supports up to 512GB of Ram.The same applies for the Enterprise edition. The Windows 8 Core edition Is 128GB.
