Something like a forum-wide movie/show/anime stream sounds like it would be cool enough.
Giveaways are usually good thing for events for what I know.
Have some custom award for being active on the day of the 500,000th?

Instead of giving away NSP, you could also increase the rate of NSP payout for a week of two.

Still, it's a nice idea with exception to the people who have already upgraded. Those people are likely to be big contributors too.

My suggestion doesn't need to be exclusive, it can be combined with other suggestions. I thought that was the point of this thread, to make suggestions...
