Most of the Elite users have at least 50 posts. You're one of the few that doesn't have 50, as I gave you Elite for purchasing it on a previous site. Personally I think the requirement should stay there, as Elite users shouldn't be exempt from that requirement. As for changing usernames, it's something that I might add later, but there are issues with it so I'm holding off on it. What's wrong with being able to rate your threads?

The username change has been suggested and denied already.
Hardly anyone on any forum rates their own threads.

I think 50 posts is a little low, should be raised to 100.
I don't see the point of changing usernames.
Hardly anyone even uses the rating thread feature, so who cares.

I can add that. It would make sense. Personally I think regular users should be able to as well.

I think the admins here have done a nice job with the 50 post limit & the no user name change, username changes are for the weak and conning, confusing members.
