20 Children Died in Newtown, Conn., School Massacre #1
Twenty children died today when a heavily armed man invaded a Newtown, Conn., elementary school and sprayed staff and students with bullets.

The gunman, identified as Adam Lanza, 20, was found dead in the school.

Lt. Paul Vance said 18 children died in the school and two more died later in a hospital. Six adults were also slain, bringing the total to 26.

In addition to the casualties at the school, a body was also found in the shooter's home, officials said.

Among the dead was Lanza's mother, although it's not clear where she was killed.

In the early confusion surrounding the investigation, federal sources initially identified the suspect as Adam's older brother Ryan Lanza, 24. He is being questioned by police.

To all Americans out there, don't let the government take away your right to bear arms, they did it to us in the UK after a school shooting tragedy also.

The only people that don't have guns when their made illegal is law abiding citizens, the criminals that want to burst into your house armed wont hand in their guns because of it.

I completely agree!!! This incident was messed up and terrible, but it will be much worse by making the innocent defenseless (without guns)

Stupid Amerifags. Second time in such a short amount of time. Their goverment is full of retards. Poor children and parents. Sad
I hope they're gonna be more prepared, for these things in the future. It's a shame, there's people who can do these kind of things.

I think they should give these events a lot less airtime and always portray the perpetrators for the worthless selfish fags that they are.

There is clearly an issue here where a really angry loner that doesn't want to live anymore knows he can become famous and get a bunch of attention for a horrible act.

Couldn't have said it better myself, I think the American government is obsessed with taking the peoples guns away, and if they pull it off, the currently tyrannical system will get 10 times worse.

For all those saying that without the right to bear arms... it will be so much worse.

How do you reconcile that in Canada, where it is very difficult for a civilian to get their hands on a gun, the gun violence is a mere fraction of that which it is in the US.

The homicide rate, for example, YTD in Vancouver, Canada, is 9. In Comparison New York City is ~450. If you want to even out the population difference, that would be about 35 homicides YTD for Vancouver if the population was the same. In Montreal, Its something like ~30 homicides YTD. That would be about ~100 homicides if the population was evened out. And its not just NYC that has high homicide rates, its most American cities.

So yes... i believe more innocents might be harmed short term if the right to own firearms was restricted... because there are a lot on the street. But long term i suspect gun violence would decrease drastically.

I heard about this on the news. Quite an unfortunate thing to happen to people especially when Christmas is closing in.

Violent crime always goes up substantially when they ban guns.

Canada is a pretty bad example because they do own guns they just restrict law abiding citizens so that some won't be able to defend themselves, also they had these vastly lower murder rates when they didn't have the crazy gun restrictions, I could give you another bad example in return, mexico where their not allowed to own them, and look how many gun deaths they have, thousands, many more than USA (and ironically their 'illegal' guns came from USA under 'operation fast and furious'). Being more realistic violent crime in my country UK including things like burglary went up over 50% right after the ban and as far as I can see that's a normal reaction.

Suddenly the criminals know they can't get shot for what their doing, and its still easy for them to get guns, and I really mean they can't be shot, there are still some farmers that own guns for controlling pests, one elderly farmer shot a burgular in the arm, and he was sent to prison. the authorities now have the attitude that burglary is worth 6 months in jail, and that shooting someone is a lot worse no matter what the circumstance and should be punished severely. I think that creates a really dangerous atmosphere for good guys.

And all these killing sprees with schools and so on, don't you think if a teacher owned a gun, it would more likely be 1,2 maybe even 3 deaths instead of 20?

The guns don't disappear in a ban, only the citiznens playing by the rules are left vulnerable.
