Who knows, Linux may not be for you and at least on a VM, you can simply delete the VHD without touching the Host/Physical system.

Sorry for such a late reply, i opened the notification on my phone while i was on break at work and was gonna reply when i got home, but it slipped my mind, i like that idea i think i'm going to do that just in case i hate it for some reason, i think ill hate it at first since i won't be familiar, but I'm sure it will reel me in Smile

No problem whatsoever with your reply, all good.

If you need help with the setup and configuration of any VM, just let me know or simply post a thread. There's a few of members who can also be of assistance. It's a wise move having a VM as the testing platform. If anything doesn't go according to plan or the OS Is simply not for you, then It doesn't come much easier than to right-click the VHD and hit delete.

i replied, but delete my reply so if it says you have 2 replies from me that's why, but i'm using oracle VM virtualbox, i'm currently running windows, do i have to download the windows version or download the linux version, its kind of a paradox in my mind lol

Great decision! I myself am going to convert to the wondrous Linux world once I've moved into my own place. As for now though I'm the casual winblows user.

I've dabbled before in dual booting and tri-booting. I do however want to make a full merge eventually.

The VM Is what Linux will run on, meaning you will be Installing Linux "on" the VM.

You need to download the Windows version of VirtualBox, Install It on your Windows physical system and then Install Linux on the VM. Linux will come In an ISO file, so once VirtualBox Is Installed, simply browse the directory of the ISO file (via VirtualBox), "mount" It and proceed with the Installation process.

Thank you, that's what i thought, but if theirs one thing i learned with coding and just using computers is that if its too easy something might not be right lol especially with coding lol

Nice to hear that you're jumping to linux. I like windows, but I also have several linux installations. I like to test and look for different linux distros. I checked already quite a few, but I still think that I didn't have them all.

Debian and Arch linux were my favourites.

I did try JoliOS as well, since it was very lightweight and I thought it would ran as a charm on my old Acer Aspire One. It did run well, but it was still full of bugs and after some random crashes I deinstalled it. I have no idea how it looks now though, I think they developed it a little bit further.
