I really, really, really like Ubuntu because it is so versatile and simplistic. In terms of security, I'm on lockdown. No one one gets past my unique systems, but for my windows box I use Vista for the elegant layout but throwback features! All the windows versions after are for little kids who can't use Ubuntu like me.

There's no right or wrong, It depends on one's overall usability.

Ubuntu Is futile to me, mainly due to compatibility Issues with tools and the like. Don't get me wrong, Ubuntu Is quite robust, both security-wise and It's functionality & stability. I have It Installed on a dedicated box for when the need comes to hand. However, the Windows platform Is well suited to my day-to-day tasks. A given OS Is only as secure as the per the user's configurations.
