Slightly correct. It's very rare that I ban people, unless they are being complete asshats. Our rules are pretty lenient and I am a reasonable person.

The thing is, people like the idea of a closed community, but they fail to understand the harsh realities of such a thing. If it were a closed community, we wouldn't have a lot of the people that currently make Sinisterly what it is, and we surely wouldn't have nearly as much activity. What people don't remember, is that the site started to die after it had been closed for a while. Invitation codes went unused, people got bored seeing the same people every day, and all in all it got old.As the owner, I have weighed the pros and cons, and as awesome as it might be to be closed off from the rest of the internet, we're not ready. We might be one day, but not today, and maybe not anywhere in the near future.

Well again, while I don't agree with the decision, the matter of the fact is I respect your own and still trust you very much in where you will take the forum, you've been a very efficient and, let's be honest, pretty much fantastic owner of the place.
Were my opinion to differ this much and would I have held no trust towards you, I would have just flat out left, the fact that I stayed pretty much says I'm at least giving this a chance before ragequitting.

The fact that we get an influx of people who still don't know, whether they're new to forums, unsure of etiquette or intending to troll, was my main reason for creating this. Of course, it's unreasonable to always be posting in high quality since like you said, it's not homework and required in each and every post. It's more of a guideline than anything else.

I'd remove the point about advertising your product, that's not really the idea of Sinisterly...
Or at least make sure to say that it has to be within a specific section, and that other forums cannot be advertised.

I agree with including the part saying other forums cannot be advertised and it should only be in the section for it. However, I think he should definitely keep it in there. It's not the key idea of SL no. But then neither is anime and many of the other sections. I think people should be encouraged, more than they are now, to share products and comment in the market and such. A lot of people don't since they're worried about people flaming their products and such.

I like this thread quite a bit actually. People are right that new members may choose to ignore this. However, this is still a resource that people can link the new members to if they see someone without an intro thread and so on. I know I will be if I come across a user like that.

The original post said "a place to advertise/sell your product", and I changed it to what it is now: "a place to share your product". Do you think I should revert it back, or keep it as it is now?
