I dont think alienware are bad at all. I have my alienware and it has a soft surface and works perfectly. The buttons are nice to touch and the computer runs smoothly with Linux installed on it. It doesnt have any compitability issues at all and works well with everything. Alienware are popular computers among hackers too. Acer PC's in my opinion usually tend to not have that great durability, if that's what youre looking for. Also, AW computers can have things like Intel i9 processors because they are so powerful, not all can have that.
I think that's one of the hard parts of choosing... Personal experience has a lot of influence over how you feel about a product. I'm glad your AWs panned out well. How long have you been using your AW for?
In all honesty, I don't think i9s existed when the AWs I used came out (my laptop was from about 2012/2013, i9s came out in 2017 lol!). So in my post, I am talking about laptops that were 5-10 years old. I imagine using them in the first 3 years is golden.
Similarly aged Lenovos that I've used, survived much better xD
More than a year. It works very well and i dont see any of the things she mentioned. Maybe she was just unlucky? Ive never hear anything bad about AW computers. And if im gonna refer to popularity, its a very popular brand among hackers. So im just sceptical that a computer of that quality wouldnt be good. Its just too many very strong statements that contradict logic.
Forgive me, I'm not sure what you mean by contradicting logic? And I suppose 1 year isn't that long, as most warranties last at least 1-2 years. However, I would hope the newer AW products are more up to scratch than the ones from 2013! xD I can only comment on what I experienced, especially when I googled my issue (such as the hinge breaking - see picture below) where I found hundreds of posts online with the same issue from the model I had. As with anything, personal experience is all relative! I promise I'm not disputing your experience either - just to clarify.
