Well back then there were less distractions i.e. computers, gadgets, etc. People are really focused in studying. Imagine doing your thesis going about library one after another when today you can easily access online journals through the internet. At topic, I believe I can pass such exam of that caliber. I'm no American but I'm well educated when it comes to my country's history and all the basic knowledge.
It's just a pity nowadays that other students don't absorb well what was being taught to them. This realization hit me hard one time when I ask some of my friends, 'how do we go about this problem?'. They can't answer me well. All I can retort back to them is that, 'We learned about this, you don't remember?'. I'm pissed that I have to bear the burden of the group on situations like this.
