I find when my brain is racing, that focusing on something very basic and visualising the details of it puts me to sleep very fast.
For me it's visualising a standard burger (weird I know) and thinking about the perfectly toasted bun, crunchy lettuce, soft cheese - everything.
However, it likely helps that I fall asleep usually very easily and very deeply.
