General multivitamins/minerals are nice, I really like the brand Buried Treasure. As long as you don't fall for something like "100% PURE ALBANIAN WHOLE SUPERFOOD BEAN EXTRACT" you should be fine.
Bodybuilding supplements follow the same principle, I use a stack of C4 + Craze for my pre-workout and a whey protein shake post-workout.
Basically, if you aren't gullible then there's no problem with buying supplements and they can be good for you.
