Changing grades has serious consequences.

Hopefully, he/she didn't pursue that path.

The consequences become more severe as you graduate to university. In highschool you can get away with alot (not saying I recommend this, but to try it in university would be career/life suicide basically, while in highschool you may be lucky enough to get a second chance).
