The key is to recognize that assembly is extremely basic. All you can do is math operations and move data places. The art of it is doing complex tasks with such simple operations.

From those 3, I can branch out and achieve basic proficiency in any language.

This is true. Still, it's a pain to program a unique game complete with graphics (the primitive ones) using this language. Nevertheless, I enjoyed learning this one and gave me a decent challenge all throughout.
