It's to do with the quoting system. I quoted you, then you quoted me (with the earlier quote included) and it gives an alert that you've quoted yourself. It is a tad irritating.

I have to admit, It hasn't been too bad as of late.

This morning I had precisely 29 alerts and only one was myself. That said, I vividly remember having 32 alters, 10 of which were my very own quotes.

Well, 3 seconds for those of us not accustomed to being so popular?

I have noticed it is much better as of late. I only get a couple here and there.
